The Pomilia Spa was born in the month of May 1973 by Gerardo e Antonio Salzano (already operating in the conserves field from 1958) and in the same year beginning the first transformation campaign of the tomato. In the first year peeled tomatoes are manufactured in the size of g. 500-1000 and 3000, and also the production of vegetables (green string beans), fresh fruit (syrup peaches) and natural mushrooms in tins, always trying to find a very high quality, meeting great pleasure of the consumers.
The widespread diffusion of the product in Campania, Piemonte, Toscana, Calabria and Trentino Alto Adige, consolidates the brand “Pomilia” among the medium high quality.
 Since the 1980s the necessity to accompany the peeled tomatoes, with other products such as: - bottled pureéd tomatoes with a 35 mm twist-off cap and successively in bottles with 53 mm cap;
- canned mediterranean small tomatoes in tins of g. 500 and 1000 g. E.O.;
- pulp tomatoes of g. 500 E.O. and of 3000 g.;

wich are still produced with renewed great enthusiasm.
In these years, the company is going to supply itself by the latest equipments and techonologies in the transformation field of the peeled tomatoes, which will allow the Pomilia to increase the production requested on the market, as a result of the success in Italy and abroad.
At the moment the factory is about 25.000 mq. very modern in the structure and in the equipments, and you can find it in the rich valley of Agro Nocerino-Sarnese in the area of Nocera Superiore.
Now the transformation is about 250.000 quintal of raw material every year and the national market absorbs the 80% of the output and 20% by the foreign one (Japan, South Africa ecc.).
  The present managers, Ing. Giuseppe Salzano and Rag. Giuseppe Salzano, continue to work at the plan begun by their founders with the same enthusiasm an the same passion, in order that this situation lasts on the market.
